Bub & Pops

On our last visit to DC this past spring, our first stop was to eat at Bub & Pops...Here Braden is annoyed with me and Nick is in line ordering our food...

Here Braden and Dalton are both annoyed with me and my camera haha...lunch is finished and we are stuffed! My goodness what good food! We had Italian subs and Chicago Beef sandwiches...we shared, they were HUGE! Definitely recommend!

Guy Fieri ate here and filmed a segment for Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives so you know it's good stuff!

1)
This is a water fountain that was near our hotel in DC the last time we went (spring)
It looks really pretty but for some reason the whole area smelled really, really bad so we couldn't enjoy it for long!

2) Braden and Dalton's first football game was tonight (Thursday)...we beat our rival school 44-0! The last 2 weeks were scrimmages.

3) The boys and I watched Stranger Things on Netflix. It was weird but good...if you like scary you should watch it! The little boy Finn is Christian's girlfriend's cousin! That looks odd written out ;)

4) I also started watching Cedar Cove on Netflix. It's a Hallmark series and a little corny but I like it...I like the characters and watch about an episode a day if I get a chance. There are only 3 seasons to it and I am in season 3. Andie MacDowell is in it.

5) A few weeks ago Nick was out of town and the boys were off doing something and I felt like watching a movie. I found An Unfinished Life ...I almost didn't want to watch it because it had Jennifer Lopez in it and I'm not a huge fan of hers but it also had Robert Redford in it and I do really like him. I am glad I chose to watch it though because I ended up liking it and Jennifer Lopez ended up being likeable ;)

Well that does it for my 5 this week! I hope you will play along! Post 5 randoms, anything you like, pictures, links, stories, whatever and link up and visit others! Have a great weekend!

Scrimmage

Friday was Braden and Dalton's first scrimmage as high school players!
Here Braden notices the pass was too long so he runs to catch it as it slips through his team mates hands...

It looks like he's trying to decide which way he should move...

Almost has it...
Dalton is #87 on the sidelines watching...

Awesome catch!

Look at the coach's expression!

It was such a hot and humid day on Friday and it's funny how the beginning of football season is so hot and by the end of the season we will be freezing!

A big scrimmage jamboree is scheduled for this Thursday where they play 2 other teams....then on to the real games in a couple of weeks!

This was a department store based here in Roanoke since 1890. It's been closed since I've lived here. Not sure what is going on with the building...probably be taken over by fancy lofts eventually!

These were all taken at the old Dominion Metal Products Building in Roanoke. I have shown you a couple of pics from this day HERE and HERE

I remember this day well. It was an unusually warm day in November 2015. The weekend of the Paris terrorist attack. Nick was out of town and the boys and I went to see the Roanoke star as the city had changed the color of the star to honor Paris. It was a sad day for the world but a special day spent with my boys.

Now it is your turn! Post 5 randoms, link back and visit others :) Have a great weekend!

A Stone House and a Couple of Different Signs

This house sits right below the Mill Mountain Star. There's a paved trail that runs right past it. As beautiful as it is, I would not like to live here due to lack of privacy but their view of the Roanoke valley must make up for it! Linking with Good Fences

We see this on our way to Raleigh. I can't remember if this is in NC or VA...it's very close to the border. It's a bit unsettling to see a guy hanging from a tree in the distance till you get closer and see what it is. I guess they are offering tree trimming services...
It looks like they do a little of everything though (taken through dirty windshield!)
You've heard of bottle trees right? This is their version...well this is a car part tree!
We were driving by this one and had to turn around to get a better look!
Haha...how funny! This is in Blairs, VA
